Children's Chiropractic Care
Children are examined and treated with age-appropriate, low-force technique, with a parent present throughout and referral whenever a finding belongs with their paediatrician.
Children fall, carry heavy backpacks, sit through long school days and train hard in sport. Many of the mechanical complaints they develop respond well to gentle care and better movement habits.
Technique for a child is nothing like adult adjusting — pressure is light and instrument-assisted or drop-table methods are common. We are conservative about scope: chiropractic care addresses musculoskeletal complaints, and anything else is directed to your paediatrician.
Who this treatment may be appropriate for
- Sport-related aches and strains
- Posture and backpack-related complaints
- Growing children with movement restrictions
- Families wanting a check-up and screening
Important considerations & when not to proceed
- Fever, unexplained weight loss, night pain, or any suspicion of infection or fracture goes to a paediatrician or emergency care first.
- We do not present chiropractic care as treatment for childhood illnesses; keep your paediatrician involved.
- A parent or guardian is present for the whole appointment.
