Scoliosis
Scoliosis is a sideways curvature of the spine; chiropractic care does not straighten the curve, but it can help with the pain, stiffness and movement limitations that often accompany it.
Curves vary widely in size, cause and stage of life. In growing children the priority is monitoring and timely specialist referral. In adults, the focus is usually comfort, mobility and function.
We assess your curve and how it affects movement and symptoms, provide manual care and exercise aimed at the restricted regions, and coordinate with medical specialists when bracing or surgical opinion is appropriate.
Who this care is usually appropriate for
- Adults with a known curve and related discomfort
- Postural asymmetry and uneven shoulders or hips
- Stiffness and fatigue with prolonged positions
- Families wanting an initial screening
Important considerations & when not to proceed
- Rapidly progressing curves in adolescents require specialist orthopaedic assessment.
- We do not claim to correct structural curvature; care is aimed at symptoms and function.

Frequently asked questions
Can chiropractic care fix scoliosis?
No. It does not reverse the curvature. It can help manage related pain and stiffness and support better movement.
Should my child be screened?
Screening is reasonable if you notice uneven shoulders, hips or a rib prominence. We refer promptly when a curve warrants specialist monitoring.
