Kinesio Taping
Kinesio taping applies flexible elastic tape to the skin to support movement and comfort between visits, without restricting range like rigid strapping.
The tape moves with you and can stay on for several days, including through showering. Patterns are chosen for the tissue and the effect wanted — support, comfort or feedback about position.
Taping is an adjunct: it can make it easier to move well while the underlying issue is treated, but it does not replace treatment or exercise.
Who this treatment may be appropriate for
- Support between treatment visits
- Sport participation while recovering
- Postural feedback for the shoulders and mid back
- Swelling and comfort management
Important considerations & when not to proceed
- Avoided over open wounds, infections, active skin conditions and cancerous lesions.
- Tell us about adhesive allergies or sensitive skin; remove the tape if it irritates.
- Taping supports care, it does not substitute for it.
