Vertigo & Dizziness
Dizziness has several possible sources — inner ear, neck, blood pressure and central causes — so screening comes before treatment, and we refer when the cause sits outside our scope.
Some dizziness relates to the neck, where joint and muscle receptors feed the balance system. Positional vertigo from the inner ear behaves differently and has its own specific management. Distinguishing them is the point of the first visit.
Where a neck contribution is identified, care includes manual treatment of the upper cervical region and balance-related exercise. Where the pattern points to the inner ear or something medical, we tell you and direct you to the right provider.
Who this care is usually appropriate for
- Dizziness alongside neck pain or stiffness
- Unsteadiness after a neck injury
- Light-headedness with certain head positions
- Patients wanting a clear explanation of the cause
Important considerations & when not to proceed
- Dizziness with new severe headache, double vision, slurred speech, weakness or fainting is an emergency.
- Hearing loss, ear discharge or ringing with vertigo needs medical or ENT assessment.
This page is general education, not medical advice. If you have a medical emergency, call 911.

Frequently asked questions
Can neck problems really cause dizziness?
Yes. Cervicogenic dizziness is recognised, and it typically travels with neck pain or stiffness rather than the spinning of positional vertigo.
What if my dizziness is not from my neck?
We will say so and point you to the appropriate provider rather than treating something that will not respond.
